Extreme Academic Makeover

Do you feel overwhelmed with school?

Do you not know where to start?

Would you like to learn new strategies to help you succeed in school?

Now available for students! We are offering Academic Makeovers to the Boise State University population. These are individualized one-on-one appointments with a study skills expert. We will find your strengths and give you the resources to improve your weaknesses. This program is one-hour. You will walk out of the appointment with a plan of action for the semester.

If you are interested in an Academic Makeover, please follow the steps to make your college career successful!

Step One

• E-mail Tutorial Services or call 208-426-5436 for a consultation. Make sure you include your name and student ID number.
• You will be sent self-assessments to complete on your computer. You must have Adobe Reader to view and fill-out the forms.
  

Step Two

• Complete all assessments (Personality, Sensory and Study Skills). Open up each assessment and complete on your computer. Your scores will be calculated for you in the form. Print out your completed assessment.
• E-mail your assessment scores a day BEFORE you come to the one-on-one appointment.

Step Three

• Come to the appointment with all of your course syllabi for the semester.
• Bring a copy of your self-assessments to the appointment.
• Have an open mind for learning new strategies.
• Have questions and be ready for self-reflection.

Step Four

• Come to the appointment.
• Be an active participant in the session.
• Walk out with a plan of action.
• Schedule a follow-up appointment.

Step Five

• Implement some new strategies into your new daily study habits.

Step Six

• Be prepared for more self reflection.
• Have a great and wonderfully successful rest of the semester!
